LEANNA TALLMAN

My name is Leanna Tallman and I am 28 years old with two children (ages six and seven). I started Jason's program, "Blow Torch the Fat", weighing 150 pounds. Within five weeks I lost 25 pounds and 6 pant sizes by following his program. With his continuing efforts and training, I've been able to maintain my ideal size and weight for the past several months. Jason's professionalism far exceeded my expectations. He is a very inspirational and knowledgeable trainer and I would recommend his training program to anyone who needs to lose weight or just tone.

ELISE MARVIN

I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to Jason for introducing me to "Blow Torch the Fat". I went on the program and after only six weeks I had lost 20 pounds and was definitely in the absolute BEST shape ever! The program was very simple and had enough variety that I never got bored with it. The best thing about this program is that if you are pressed for time and think that you don't have the time to get a great and efficient workout in your day, you are wrong! It is truly amazing what only 4 minutes in a day can do for your overall fitness level and appearance.

CHARLEIGH WILDE

I have been training for 5 weeks with Jason. Within the first two weeks I noticed big differences. It wasn't so much in my weight that I noticed changes, but the simple walking up stairs and watering flowers. I feel strong all over. I feel like I'm running up stairs instead of my legs feeling like weights and each step is a struggle.

I'm a hair stylist, so I stand all day with my arms up in the air. 5 weeks ago I would have to walk in the back room and stretch my back out and shake my arms because they felt weak. Now because my core is so much stronger I can stand the whole day and go home without back pain.

For me personally I don't need to lose much weight. It's more important to me for my everyday struggles to become easier. I'm 23 years old and I have been dealing with back pain for 8 years. In 5 weeks I have had maybe 3 or 4 nights of minor pains in my back. I have worked out in a gym for 4 or 5 years and have never been able to make my stomach and back so strong. Since Jason gave me a work out plan my back pain is almost gone.

Even with losing 5 pounds my clothes fit great. I have a looser fit in my waist, butt and thighs. The areas I needed help in the most, Jason has targeted and I'm seeing great results. My 12 year old brother actually told me the other day that " I don't have cottage cheese legs anymore". He was trying to give me a compliment. It was still nice to hear.

It's exciting to see results so fast. I look forward to continuing on with the program. It's hard to imagine that it's gets better because it's been great already.

Sincerely,
Charleigh Wilde

MARCY PFAHLER

Dear Amy,

Since meeting with you in November, I just wanted to let you know how much my life has been impacted.

I have been working out for 20 years, and am very comfortable in any weight room, anywhere.  I’m married to a Physical Education Major and if I needed ideas or suggestions to vary my workouts, I just asked him.  I am in shape and I am healthy.

I decided to train with Amy for several reasons. 1) I thought my diet could be better for my body.  2) I had slowly, steadily gaining weight for the past three years (approx. 2lbs. per year).  3) I was bored with my current lifting routine and wanted to spice it up a bit and tailor it to fit my needs.  4) I wasn’t seeing results that mirrored my efforts.

So, I met with Amy and we set up a nutrition plan.  I had to document everything I ate and change the way in which I currently looked at food.  I am 39, a mother of three who luckily has never had to diet or watch what I ate.  Keeping a food journal and changing how and what I was eating was an eye opening experience and the key to my success.

After eating “clean” for two months I had lost 12-15 pounds!  More importantly, I lost the fat around the body parts most of us want to lose, the abdomen, back, buttocks and triceps area.  The definition I’d always desired was becoming more and more noticeable.  I really hadn’t planned on losing that much weight.  Also, I did this over Christmas and New Years.  By January 24th, I’d reached a pre-childbirth weight!

I’m not saying any of this was easy.  I was dedicated and worked extremely hard at the diet and the exercising component.  I am still working at eating better with less “cheats”, but being able to say at my age that, “I'm in the best looking shape of my life” is a cool thing.  I never could have done this without the support and knowledge from Amy.  So, Thanks!

Sincerely,

Marcy Pfahler

LILLIAN HOJNACKI

I would like to say thank you for giving us a chance to belong to Elite.  Without Humana the low income people could not afford to go even if they needed it.  As a great many of us do.

I have been going about a month and no longer have trouble in my shoulder and even in my knees which had 2 total knee replacements.

Thanks to Sandy and Elite

MARCIA SPRUIT

I enjoy working out with a group, it makes exercising fun.  Our instructor is great and makes everyone feel comfortable in her class.

The staff at Elite is always there to help and willing to show the proper use of the equipment.  I feel my arm and legs are stronger and I can move around faster.  Silver Sneakers fitness program is doing a great job!

RALPH BURDE, Ed.D.

Tom and Elite Fitness Staff-

On August 11, 1993, I smoked my last cigarette.  And that afternoon I took my dog for a 20-minute walk.  That first 20-minute walk has evolved in a commitment to aerobic fitness.  I usually only miss no more than two days a month.

In spite of near daily workouts, it was not until April, 1998, that I lost 30 lbs.  That summer the following findings were reported in the former AARP publication,
Modern Maturity:

  • Persons 50 years old and older that had lost a significant amount of weight, (at least 12% of their previous weight).
  • Had kept the weight off for at least a year, almost without exception.
  • Participated in daily purposeful and strenuous aerobic exercise for at least 60 minutes.

Wow – what a challenge.  To keep the weight off, we have to make a lifetime commitment to hard work!

At 55 years old:

  • I rarely eat sweats and literally never eat deserts (yes, we have to keep the chocolate out of the house).
  • With the exception of light beer, I attempt to limit carbs.
  • My usual workout routine is a 35-minute run and 30 minutes on a stepper.  When I cannot get to Elite Fitness, I use a stationary bike and stepper we have at home.

Does the fitness commitment payoff?  You bet!

The weight has stayed off!  Last summer I had the great opportunity to participate in Mid-South Multiple Sclerosis 150-mile bike tour.  The two day event was Memphis to tunica, MS, on Saturday where we stayed overnight in a world class hotel and ate world class meals.  On Sunday we rode back up to Memphis.  I was the oldest of our riding team and one teammate was my daughter and another, her husband.  As the old man of the group, I not only kept up, often was in a position to set the pace.

Finally, Tom and Elite Fitness Staff – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINDING A PLACE OF US OLDER FOLKS to be comfortable and at home at your gym.

If I can assist you or any of your staff in any way, please allow me to serve you.

Ralph Burde, Ed.D.
